Outclick Media Gives Back: Supporting IAAC Efforts in Haiti

In Haiti, only 50% of eligible children attend primary school, and only 19.5% of eligible children attend secondary school, according to unicef.org. Outclick Media is working to help Haitian children gain access to education, as well as nutrition and proper health care through volunteering with the International Alliance for the Advancement of Children (IAAC).

The IAAC is a non-profit organization based in Brooklyn, New York, which was founded to help prevent Haitian children from developing malnutrition, and to give them access to an education. The IAAC serves children from age 6 to age 22, providing them with school supplies, job training, and meals that they need in order to thrive.

Outclick Media staff are donating 120 hours of work to IAAC, helping them to expand their organization’s web presence and gain exposure for the help that the IAAC is giving to the Haitian population. Outclick Media is also sponsoring 3 dental students who will travel to Haiti and provide dental care at IAAC’s facility in Les Cayes, Haiti.

Ali Jahangiri, CEO of Outclick Media, explained, “IAAC is a unique charity that has helped the lives of thousands of Haitians. It’s a privilege to be able to help them better the lives of so many children and young adults. It’s extremely gratifying to be able to give our time and resources to a cause that does not receive as much attention as it truly deserves.”

This is the second year that Outclick Media has worked directly with IAAC. During the last trip that Outclick Media participated in in February 2010, volunteers provided over $75,000 in free dental care to over 100 patients, many of whom had never had the opportunity to receive professional dental care before.

Through donations made since the IAAC was founded in 2003, as well as the help of volunteers like the Outclick Media staff, the IAAC has been able to serve over 3.2 million hot meals, provided over 10,000 school uniforms and school supplies, and provided vocational training to over 22 young women.

There are many ways that you can help children and young adults in Haiti by contributing to IAAC. Any contributions made will help to support nutrition, education programs, and vocational programs to help better the lives of young people in Haiti.
